The Toronto “Tiny Shelters” case is featured in a February 23 article in Complex online magazine. ALG’s Samara Secter is part of the legal team representing Khaleel Seivwright in a legal proceeding involving the City of Toronto. Mr. Seivwright is a Toronto-based carpenter who built portable wooden shelters for people living in city parks while experiencing homelessness. The City of Toronto is seeking an injunction to prevent Mr. Seivwright from placing or relocating the shelters in city parks or rights-of-way.
The City’s notice of application and Mr. Seivwright’s statement on the case are available online.
