THIS WEEK: ALG’S WILLIAM THOMPSON TO PRESENT AT THE ADVOCATES’ SOCIETY ON DIGITAL EVIDENCE

On March 10, 2021, ALG’s William Thompson will be a faculty member for The Advocates’ Society’s Digital Evidence for Litigators program. The event will focus on best practices for gathering digital evidence and litigating its admissibility at trial. Faculty for the event includes members of the criminal defence and family bars, law enforcement, digital forensic experts, and members of the judiciary including the Honourable Justice Nakatsuru of the Superior Court of Justice and the Honourable Associate Chief Justice Fairburn of the Court of Appeal. Bill is scheduled to speak on a panel regarding ethical issues and digital evidence with Associate Chief Justice Fairburn, Heather Hansen of McCarthy Hansen & Company LLP, and Gerald Chan of Stockwoods LLP.

Bill speaks regularly on criminal law issues at conferences and in the media. He is active in the community as the Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section, as well as a member at large for the Canadian Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section.
