SAMARA SECTER AND EMILY LAM WIN SUPREME COURT APPEAL
Samara Secter and Emily Lam represented Tom Le in his win at the Supreme Court of Canada. The majority of the Court overturned Mr. Le’s convictions and acquitted him of all charges because the police violated his Charter rights. Read the decision here. The case is a recognition that Charter rights apply to equally to everyone no matter where they live, “it’s an acknowledgement that where you live doesn’t dictate the level of rights you get,” Samara told the Globe and Mail.
