Update: This L.A. Times editorial on the “epidemic” of prosecutorial misconduct in California illustrates the different roles prosecutors and defence counsel have in the criminal justice system. Prosecutors shouldn’t be out to win, but to see justice. Yet like in Canada, prosecutors who violate their duties rarely get formally censured.
