ALG’s Frank Addario appeared on Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back podcast with Libby Znaimer on May 26, 2020. Frank spoke about how the criminal justice system is adapting to the new realities of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the subject of a reported increase in bail releases during COVID-19, Frank emphasized that “people awaiting trial in provincial jails are presumed innocent of the allegations [and] they may or may not be found guilty of those allegations … they are people charged with crimes to whom the presumption of innocence applies.”
Ontario Attorney General Doug Downey also appeared on Fight Back yesterday to discuss COVID-related changes to the justice system.
