FRANK ADDARIO COMMENTS ON ONTARIO JUDICIAL COUNCIL MISCONDUCT HEARING

Frank Addario spoke to the Lawyer’s Daily about the Ontario Judicial Council’s decision in Justice Donald McLeod’s case. The OJC found that Justice McLeod’s work with the Federation of Black Canadians crossed a line, but was not misconduct. Frank comments on the OJC’s conclusion: “Ten years ago, the government got proactive about mental health so now it’s OK for judges to sit at that table. But since government is slow connecting the dots on how gun violence, poverty, unemployment and racism affects black youth, it’s not okay [for a judge] to get up and offer solutions there – This is a distinction which, to my mind, is not worth maintaining.”
