Frank Addario and Megan Savard presented at the 2019 Criminal Lawyers’ Association Fall Conference in Toronto on November 15 and 16.
On November 15, Frank Addario presented the annual Sopinka Lecture. His lecture (“How Can you Defend Those People and Other Notes from the Frontlines of Defending in the Criminal Courts”) will be posted shortly. In 2016, Frank received the CLA’s G. Arthur Martin Criminal Justice Medal for lifetime achievement in criminal law.
On November 16, Megan Savard and defence counsel Lisa Freeman gave a presentation on dealing effectively with concurrent criminal and regulatory proceedings. Megan was also elected to be a director of the CLA for 2019-2021 as a representative of the Toronto Region. The CLA announced its annual election results as part of the conference.
The CLA Fall Conference is Canada’s largest criminal law conference. Attendees include defence lawyers, judges, and educators.
