ALG’S LYNDA MORGAN TO CO-CHAIR ADVOCATES’ SOCIETY SEMINAR ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE, EQUALITY, AND DISCRIMINATION

ALG’s Lynda Morgan is co-chair of an upcoming Advocates’ Society seminar on Criminal Justice Litigation, Equality, and Discrimination.

The seminar will feature two panels of practitioners and scholars. The first panel will focus on Section 15 of the Charter and the implications of recent court decisions in Fraser v Canada (Attorney General) (2020 SCC 28), R v Sharma (2020 ONCA 478), and R v Turtle (2020 ONCJ 429) for criminal justice practitioners. The second panel will focus on racial discrimination and sentencing and will include a discussion of R v Morris, which is currently on reserve before the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Lynda is secretary of the Criminal Law Practice Group of the Advocates’ Society. The CLPG is presenting this seminar.
