ALG's Megan Savard is a speaker at upcoming conferences and programs in Fall 2020.
On October 22-23, Megan was a panelist in a criminal law session of the Sudbury Colloquium. Megan joined the Honourable Justice Breese Davies of the Ontario Superior Court and counsel Stacey Haner and Dana Peterson for a panel discussion on navigating the sexual offences evidence screening regime in sections 276 and 278 of the Criminal Code. Colloquium is a Continuing Professional Development event for lawyers in Northeastern Ontario organized by a committee of legal professionals. Colloquium 2020 was the 10th anniversary of the conference.
On November 24, Megan will speak at the Advocates' Society Civil Litigation Skills Certificate Program on Evidence for Litigators. The topics for the program include evidentiary objections and tips for effectively presenting evidence, including in the context of remote trials during COVID-19.
On November 25, Megan will be a panelist in a session on Ethics in the eDiscovery World at the Ontario Bar Association's Digital Evidence & eDiscovery Institute. Megan will join the Honourable Michael Penny of the Ontario Superior Court, Lisa Alleyne of Scotiabank, and moderator David Outerbridge of Torys LLP.
