NEXT WEEK: ALG’S FRANK ADDARIO TO CO-CHAIR ADVOCATES’ SOCIETY PROGRAM ON SUPREME COURT ADVOCACY

ALG’s Frank Addario is the co-chair of an upcoming continuing professional development program on advocacy at the Supreme Court of Canada. The Advocates’ Society will offer the program online on May 27, 2021.

This program provides a comprehensive perspective on advocacy at the Supreme Court of Canada to help practitioners best represent their clients before Canada’s highest court. Frank has one of the leading Supreme Court of Canada practices in the country, having appeared there over 40 times as counsel.

Frank will join Nadia Effendi of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP as the co-chair of the program. The faculty includes the Honourable Justice Karakatsanis of the Supreme Court of Canada, three former justices of the SCC (the Honourable Justices Binnie, Cromwell, and Rothstein), and members of the appellate bar.

Frank will moderate two panels on SCC advocacy: a panel on getting the Supreme Court to “see it your way” (with Justices Binnie and Cromwell and counsel from the Department of Justice) and a panel on going to the Supreme Court for the first time (with three rising stars of the appellate bar).

To register or learn more about the program, please visit the Advocates’ Society webpage.
